The paper contains study results of hoof fungus (Fomes fomentarius (Linnaeus) Fr., 1849) fruiting bodies-inhabiting beetles in the republican landscape reserve «Stronga».
The species composition of Fomes fomentarius fruiting bodies-inhabiting beetles association of republican landscape reserve «Stronga» was ascertained. It contains 65 species, belong to 40 genera and 22 families. Sixty species are recorded into the reserve's fauna for the first time.
Staphylinidae family, including 16 members, dominates number of species, Latridiidae and Ciidae families are represented by 7 species each other. The most complex taxonomic structure in Fomes fomentarius fruiting bodies-inhabiting beetles association is true for Staphylinidae family, which combines 7 genera. Atheta (Staphylinidae) and Cis (Ciidae) genera are characterized by the greatest number of representatives (5) in the «Stronga».
Beetles Hylus olexai (Palm, 1955) (Eucnemidaey), Bothrideres bipunctatus Gmelin, 1790 (Bothrideridae), Corticaria lapponica Zetterstedt, 1838 (Latridiidae), Prionychus ater (Fabricius, 1775) (Tenebrionidae), Dryophthorus corticalis (Paykull, 1792) (Curculionidae) are species, which can develop in Hoof fungus fruiting bodies only.
Studies have identified 1 alien species – Latridius minutus (Linnaeus, 1767) (Latridiidae family) in.Fomes fomentarius fruiting bodies-inhabiting beetles association.
List of Fomes fomentarius fruiting bodies-inhabiting beetles of the national park protected in European countries includes 11 species belong to 5 families: Hylus olexai (Eucnemidae); Litargus connexus (Fourcroy, 1785), Mycetophagus quadripustulatus (Linnaeus, 1760) (Mycetophagidae); Triplax aenea (Schaller, 1783), T. russica (Linnaeus, 1758), T. scutellaris Charpentier, 1825, Tritoma subbasalis (Reitter, 1896), Dacne bipustulata (Thunberg, 1781) (Erotylidae family); Neomidia haemorrhoidalis (Fabricius, 1787), Prionychus ater (Tenebrionidae); Grynocharis oblonga (Linnaeus, 1758) (Trogossitidae).
