Abstract

The article outlines the peculiarities of the formation of American national and cultural values in the early XX and early XXI centuries. The main ways and reasons for their transformation such as cultural fragmentation, erosion of spiritual and moral laws, expanding reality filled with new sociocultural and national meanings are described.  Moreover, any social phenomenon has a clear tendency to influence the language sphere so the changes in the communicative space lead to the structural transformation of national identity. It is proved that in the US values system the process of archaization that has conserved the ideas of freedom and equality is accompanied by the modernization of national and cultural principles in accordance with external factors and people’s needs.
