Abstract

The article discusses the results of a study devoted to the study of the demand of modern students for professionally important qualities of a teacher. The free description of the ideal teacher's personality by high school students (n=150) made it possible to compile his generalized psychological portrait. By means of data factorization, a subjective personality model of an ideal teacher is constructed, which is formed by four categories: "Positive moral character", "Multitasker", "Developing authority" and "Kind and fair teacher". A comparative analysis of the ideas of modern students and students of the "pre-digital" era about the personality of the ideal teacher allowed us to identify common qualities. These qualities, which are outside the context of time, include those that allow you to establish productive interpersonal relationships in the Teacher–Student system. A comparative analysis of the ideas of modern students with scientific concepts of professionally important qualities of a teacher's personality reveals the similarity of their content.
