Abstract

The article presents the authorʼs projective drawing technique “My house is a family space”, which allows to study the family hierarchy as one of the key parameters of the family system. The family obeys a certain hierarchy as a certain primordial order. The structure of the family, the specifics of the family members interaction are largely determined by the family hierarchy. Violations of the rules of the original order lead to an inversion of the family hierarchy. There are methods in psychodiagnostic practice which are used for studying the structure of the family, but
not individual essential parameters of the family system, for example, the family hierarchy. The family hierarchy as a parameter of the family system is the classification basis for a family of a child-centered type; however, there is no
adequate way to study the hierarchy, there are no diagnostic tools. The projective technique is theoretically and methodologically justified, contains the incentive material, the conducting procedure and the instructions for the test
subjects are indicated, clear criteria for interpreting empirical results are highlighted. The technique has been empirically tested and can be used as a valid one for the study of the hierarchy in the family.
