Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of translation of the term δικαιοσύνη, used in the Greek text of the Bible, on the example of the Epistle of Apostle Paul to the romans. Nowadays attention is paid to this concept primarily in Western science, where debates have been going on for several years. The difficulty in understanding the word lies not only in the versatility of its meanings, but also in the absence of close or related languages. This
article examines various ways of translating the term under study into Russian and Belarusian. A number of translations are involved, differing in the concept of interpretation of the word and text of the original Bible. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the problem of understanding δικαιοσύνη in the Russian/
Belarusian-speaking scientific environment is little developed. This leads to difficulties in understanding the texts  of the Bible, including the letter to the Romans.
