The dependence of the efficiency of the steel products hardening treatment on the parameters of the complex
effect of combined thermal and magnetic pulse treatment, leading to the formation of a dispersed structure, has been
investigated analytically. It has been established that in order to prevent the formation of microcracks under the
influence of magnetic pulse processing of refractory and heat-resistant materials, it is advisable to preheat the workpiece with high-frequency currents to temperatures of the order of 0.2...0.5 phase transition temperature. Preheating also leads
to the diffusion processes intensification and the creation of conditions for austenitic-martensitic transformations in the
process of magnetic pulse processing.
