Abstract

The article deals with the methods and results of the study of the surface layer of Bata mechanism parts for STB looms, which
are exposed to intensive wear. As is known, physical and mechanical properties of materials for the important parts of looms determine
their durability and reliability. The research results reveal the percentage of codopants and hardness of the materials used in the Bata
mechanism manufactured by different producers. Some ideas of improving the wear resistance of parts, working in conditions of
friction are suggested.
