Abstract

The paper presents the results of the experimental research of surface quality parameters of ball bearing rings
made of steel 100Cr6 during electrical discharge machining. We have investigated the dependence of the size
of blocks of coherent scattering, structural strain, the content of austenite in the surface layer on technological factors
of electrical discharge machining. We have identified and explained the complex interaction and interdependence of
technological factors of electrical discharge machining of the surfaces of ball bearing rings. The obtained regression
dependences for all the investigated parameters allow us to develop a mathematical model of the process, which can
solve the problem of optimization of electrical discharge machining by the criteria of the quality of the processed
surface of ball bearing rings made of steel 100Cr6.
