Abstract

Using the ion-plasma method with molybdenum cathode arc source and methane as a plasma-forming gas, Mo2C coatings with a Co3W6C sublayer are formed, the thickness of which is regulated by the ion bombardment time. The hardness of the layered coating increases with respect to the hard alloy from 18 to 45…55 GPa, depending on the thickness of the layered coating, and the volume wear decreases to 20 times.
