Abstract

The purpose of this work is to study the kinematic viscosity and flash point in an open crucible of semi-synthetic transmission oils with an increase in the mileage of buses of the MAZ 226 model.

The scientific novelty of the work consists in obtaining new experimental data on changes in the kinematic viscosity and flash point in an open crucible of semi-synthetic transmission oils of foreign brands with an increase in the mileage of the bus.

The introduction contains brief information on the requirements for kinematic viscosity and flash point in an open crucible of semi-synthetic transmission oils used in the transmission of MAZ 226 buses.

The main part describes a research methodology for determining changes in kinematic viscosity at 100 °C and flash point in an open crucible of semi-synthetic transmission oils, depending on the mileage of the vehicle. It was found that the best result in changing the kinematic viscosity at a temperature of 100 °C and the flash point in an open crucible after running the MAZ 226 bus model 110 thousand km is observed when using semi-synthetic transmission oils of Lukoil TM-5 75W-90 and Gazpromneft 80W-90 brands.

The research results will be useful to mechanical engineers when choosing brands of semi-synthetic transmission oils used in diesel internal combustion engines in order to increase the reliability and operability of the main transmission components of buses.
