STUDY OF INTERACTION FORCES BETWEEN LINKS OF THE DRIVE MECHANISM OF A CHAIN UNIT

The technique of force analysis of the drive mechanism of the chain unit, based on the d'Alembert-Lagrange principle and the kinetostatic method for cases of balanced and unbalanced crank, is used. The studies have been conducted to establish the influence of geometric and kinematic parameters, as well as masses and ratios of the gravity forces of the drive mechanism links on the magnitude of the balancing moment and the values of reactions in kinematic pairs. The research results can be used in designing a drive mechanism in order to reduce reactions in kinematic pairs and reduce the mechanical power expended on driving the working chamber of the chain unit. This technique of power analysis and the research results can also be used in designing similar lever mechanisms and in the educational process when studying the corresponding section of the academic discipline “Theory of Mechanisms and Machines”.
