Abstract

The methodology of management of regional economy on the example of Volga region is studied. The contradictory development of Russian regions at the present time clearly shows the insufficiency of the traditional approach to
definition of the subject of the regional economy as the study of organizational and economic aspects and as the study
of spatial problems of economic development of the national economy. Taking into account the impact of the severe
crisis and sanction factors the market principles and mechanisms of ensuring the integrity and stability of the regional
economy should be more actively explored.
