Abstract

The article investigates theoretical aspects of female migration phenomenon on international level. The specific
terminology was enriched with new concepts “migration corridor” and “migration elevator” which thoroughly describe
the pathways of immigrants abroad. The “migration corridor” is a survival strategy in recipient countries which is created personally by migrating woman while as “migration elevator” is a movement up-down in the recipient society stratas. The article also provides analysis of female migration consequences such as orphanhood of children with alive parents. These children are deprived of parental care while their parents are gone abroad for earnings for many years and
have no influence on education and upbringing of children.
