Abstract

The article uses the example of V. Bykov’s and B. Vasiliev’s works to reveal the content of the concept ‘lieutenant's prose’, the interaction of Belarusian and Russian literatures is manifested in the context of the epoch, the typological similarity of the prose is created by writers-front-line-soldiers from their own military experience. Special attention is paid to the interpretation of the image of the commander as the main character of the ‘front-line’ works, to the understanding of the typical characters’ traits
