Abstract

The article reveals the psychological essence of motivation, approaches to its understanding in Russian and foreign psychology. The results of an empirical study of achievement motivation, academic motivation, sources of motivation among psychology students are presented. Gender differences in students' motivation are reflected. The links between different types of motivation in the motivational profile of students' personality are described.
