Abstract

The article deals with the problem of professional psychological selection of unmanned aerial vehicles operators. Professional
selection is an important element in the organization and implementation of any professional activity, especially in the professions
associated with the increased risk, both for the subject of this activity and for society as a whole. The author seeks to trace the
relationship and establish differences between the operator activities of a military pilot and an operator of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The concepts of professional selection and suitability, scientific research of Belarusian psychologists in this area are analyzed. The
idea is substantiated that the operation of complex expensive military equipment requires the operator of unmanned aerial vehicles to
have certain professionally important qualities and the degree of their development, which will ensure an acceptable level of efficiency
and professional activity reliability, ultimately having a positive impact on the countryʼs defense capability.
