Abstract

The article actualizes the problem of interpersonal dependence of a person in youth, differentiates the concepts of “interpersonal
dependence” and “healthy attachment”. Interpersonal addiction is understood as an excessive desire to establish and strengthen
a close relationship with a significant other (the need for help and approval, the tendency to sacrifice oneʼs interests in the process of
interpersonal interaction). The empirical established life meanings and values of young men and women who are prone to various
types of interpersonal dependence (addiction) are considered: love dependence, dependence on a partner, dependence in parent-child
relationships. The results of an empirical study of the leading and ignored life meanings, young men and women life values who are
prone to interpersonal dependence to a high and medium degree are presented.
