VERBAL CREATIVITY AS A PREDICTOR OF COOPERATION BEHAVIOR IN YOUTH

This article deals with the phenomenon of coping behavior. The key resource bases of the personality in coping with stress are
briefly presented. Emphasis is given to adolescence as a sensitive period for the development of the main sociogenic potentials of a
person. Creativity is considered as coping, which plays an important but ambiguous role in coping with difficult life situations. The characterological
features of a creative personality are described. The concept of “creativity” is presented from the perspective of E. P. Torrens
and J. Gilford. The definition of verbal creativity in the broad and narrow senses is given. Empirically established adaptive and nonadaptive
ways of coping behavior, ways of proactive coping behavior, coping-stress behavioral strategies, coping responses to stress,
which can be predicted by verbal creativity, verbal originality, verbal flexibility and verbal fluency are disclosed.
