Abstract

The article presents the results of the dynamics of the cognitive and personal development of children of primary school age.
Learning success is understood as a positive result of the student in studies, supported by the student's positive and adequate selfassessment
of the achieved result and the positive attitude of the student’s environment towards his results, accompanied by a positive
emotional state. On the basis of the empirical study of the intellectual and personal characteristics of younger students, the psychological
characteristics of children were established, which are interconnected with success in learning, namely, social adaptation,
relations between the student and the teacher, relations with classmates, self-esteem. It has been proved that the cognitive and personal
development of a child is characterized by the process of the relationship between personal and cognitive (intellectual) components
that directly affect the further development and formation of the personality, and the level of cognitive and personal development
is weakly determined by the level of self-esteem and value orientations of younger students.
