Abstract

The article presents a continuation of the historical-psychological and philosophical-religious analysis of the religious-philosophical
views of Professor P. Ya. Svetlov, the professor of the Kyiv Imperial University of St. Vladimir, Doctor of Theology. Relying
on the whole corpus of philosophical and religious works of Professor P. Ya. Svetlov, as well as introducing into scientific
circulation works and archival materials unknown to the wide scientific community, the author continues to reveal various aspects of
the problems of the psychology of religion touched upon by the thinker. The author’s emphasis is on the discussion between P. Ya. Svetlov
and Professor of the Moscow Theological Academy P. P. Sokolov within the framework of the problem field at the intersection
of zoopsychology and religious-philosophical anthropology. The study of the creative heritage of Professor Pavel Svetlov shows that
despite the debatability and ambiguity of many of his views, this Russian representative of spiritual and academic philosophy left
a noticeable mark in the history of the psychology of religion.
