CONCEPTS OF FESTIVAL AND STUDENT FESTIVAL MOVEMENTIN MODERN SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE

Abstract

The article presents a description of the concepts of “festival” and “student festival movement” based on the analysis of the
key provisions of modern scientific research in the field of pedagogical and humanitarian (art history, cultural studies) knowledge.
For the breadth of the context, scientific works were involved, which highlight the issues of the festival holiday in various countries
(Belarus, Russia, China). The concept of the festival is at the stage of theory development: the boundaries are outlined, the main
characteristics of the phenomenon are clarified, the criteria for its typologies, essence and structure are determined. The interpretations
of the concept of “festival” in the works of various scientists are systematized, the functions of the festival are described. The
characteristics of the components of the festival (artistic concept, position, organizing committee, composition of festival events,
festival audience (participants and spectators), festival marketing) are given. The conclusion is made about the different degrees of
development of the two concepts in the special scientific literature.
