The article actualizes the problem of implementation of project details with students aged 6—7 years in optional classes in the
subject “Physical Culture and Health”. The expediency of using interdisciplinary connections in the development of the content of the
modular optional course “To the Olympic Heights” is considered. The expediency of using in the educational process in elementary
school the teaching aid developed by the author of the article in the theoretical part of the optional course — a workbook is argued. The
content and procedure of the project activity of students in the optional course classes, the features of the joint activity of younger
students to create a project product — a thematic interactive folder (lapbook) are described. The results of an empirical study are
presented, indicating the effectiveness of the use of a thematic interactive folder and a sports quest game in the implementation of project
activities for the formation of knowledge, communication skills and increasing the level of physical fitness of 6—7 year old students.
