Abstract

This article analyzes the discourse in the Ukrainian surrealist short story of the 1920s. Surrealism as an avant-garde
stylistic process of the first third of the twentieth century in Ukrainian literature which wasn't developed into an integrated
system, as in the French, and is represented mainly in the poetry and prose of Ukrainian emigration. In the article not wellknown
works of forgotten Ukrainian writers belonging to the generation and the era of “Executed Renaissance” at
figurative and genre and stylistic levels are under study.
