Abstract

The article deals with a number of studies about the father-image. The results of studying the young people’s image
of the father of from one- and two-parent families are described. An attempt to introduce the empirical typology of the
father-image as very positive, positive, ambivalent, negative and very negative has been displayed. It is proved that girls
from one-parent families aremore often have a negative image of the father. The positive image of the father is the object
at identification for young people from one- and two-parent families. The negative image of the father isn't the object for
identification.
