Abstract

The content of axiological competence in the structure of the professional competence of the student — a future
teacher of preschool education is considered. The structure of axiological competence is revealed through the content of
cognitive, activity and personal components. The content of the components of axiological competence is characterized.
The cognitive component is considered as a system of educational values and professional pedagogical values. The
content of the activity component is defined as a system of skills to carry out value-oriented activities. The personal
component is presented through a description of instrumental values, including personal qualities and subjective-personal
value orientations. Criteria for studying the cognitive component of axiological competence are determined according
to the selected components of axiological competence. The results of studying the values of students of the specialty
“Preschool Education”, motivating the choice of the profession, professional development, understanding the
prestige and significance of the future profession for themselves are presented.
