PECULIARITIES OF MANIFESTATION OF ТRUST OF MARRIED WOMENIN THE MARITAL RELATIONSHIP

Abstract

The article presents the theoretical analysis of the problem of trust in the marital relationship. The content and
the main functions of trust in close interpersonal relations are highlighted. Trust in the marital relationship is seen as
spouse’s confidence in honesty and absence of harm, betrayal by the other spouse, his / her responsibility, reliability
and care. It allows a person to feel safe and accepted, indicating the satisfaction of his / her basic psychological needs
for security, love and acceptance. The results of the empirical study aimed at investigating the manifestation of trust of
married women and perceptions about it in their relationships with men are discussed. It was found that trust in the
relationship with spouse is not an absolute value for a significant part of women. Many women are not aware of its
essential characteristics. About half of women do not consider their husbands men trustworthy by them. The highest
degree of manifestation of trust of women to their husbands is noted in the sphere of marital fidelity and the lowest
one is in matters of child rearing.
