Abstract

Cognitive and social development of a child is understood as the development and improvement of cognitive
functions and mental operations, their qualitative neoplasm in connection with systematic restructuring of social
relations in microsocium on the one hand, and the formation of social qualities on the basis of intellectual maturity on
the other hand. During the transition from preschool to primary school age there is the relationship between the high
level of cognitive development and the need of communication. Children whose leading activity didn’t start to change
are characterized by the low level of mental abilities in connection with high-level motivation to play games. The
article presents the results of the research which prove that the development of intellect corresponds to the expression
of the need in communication and high status position in a group.
