Abstract

The article presents the results of a study on the problem of genesis of Russian-language literature of Belarus. Since the second half of the twentieth century, the creativity of Russian-language writers has occupied a special place in the literary process of Belarus. Developed in difficult historical conditions, the Russian-language literature of Belarus is a kind of cultural phenomenon. The ambiguous genesis of the Russian-language literature of Belarus is explained by an isolated position of the authors in the new historical conditions, and the interaction of cultural discourses (Belarusian and Russian). There are two main periods in the history of Russian-language literature. The first one (1960s—1990s) was connected with activities of already recognized authors and the creative rise of writers of the informal association “Minsk school”. The second period (1990s — present), which is widely represented by the names of all generations of writers, is characterized by increasing ideological and thematic range of works, genre and
stylistic diversity.

From the end of the XX — beginning of the XXI century, the question of creating the history of the Russianlanguage literature of Belarus arises; its complexity is determined by a range of factors: the difficulty of writing a historical and literary commentary on artistic works, the existence of close cultural ties with classic Russian and Belarusian literature, the lack of high-quality artistic works, and literary criticism. However, the creativity of Russianspeaking
authors is actively developing and today represents a complex system, which is characterized by a number of
trends, genre and stylistic diversity, the eclecticism of forms and methods, and ideological and thematic originality.
