Abstract

The society demands to train foreign language teachers for intercultural communication. Using the data of ethnographic studies of the Belarusian and American cultures, a comparison of a number of national values and characteristics was carried out which made it possible to identify the peculiarities of the perceptive aspect of intercultural communication of foreign language teacher. The article emphasizes its role as an intercultural mediator, interpreter and retranslator of cultures in social and professional activities.
