Abstract

This article focuses on motivation as a component of students’ cognitive activity, which contributes to successful management of this type of activity. The problem of management of students’ cognitive activity is actualized, and its importance in a dynamic world is substantiated. The approaches to the definition of the concepts of “cognitive activity” and “cognitive activity management” are analyzed. The structure of cognitive activity is revealed. The results of an empirical study of students’ cognitive activity are presented, and its hierarchical structure is described.
