The article presents the theoretical aspects of the problem of formation of motivational readiness of teachers of preschool education to the certification procedure. The authors consider this issue from the perspective of teachers passing certification at will in order to establish the qualification category. The comparative characteristic of the content of the notion “motivational readiness” from various theoretical positions is presented. The content of motivational readiness is revealed through the characteristics of its components (personality component, cognitive component, technological component, reflective component). The criteria and indicators for assessing teachers’ motivational readiness to the certification procedure and the diagnostic methods for their identification are presented.
