Abstract

The article examines the poetic work of V. Korotynsky in order to identify the aesthetic ideal in connection with the problem of the formation and development of sentimentalism in Belarusian literature of the XIX century. The
analysis of the poems “Nad Kalyskay”, “Pastryzhany”, “Lyubast” (from the standpoint of General philological integrity) proves that the axiological guidelines of the aesthetic ideal of Belarusian literature were born in the first half
of the XIX century. The source of beauty was oral folk art, because only it, according to Korotynsky, who was a sentimentalist, was able to preserve the Christian understanding of the essence of nature, the social behaviour of the
individual.
