Abstract

The article analyzes genre and stylistic features of the novel “Lisowczycy” by the Polish-speaking writer, memoirist, scientist, traveler Ferdinand Antony Ossendovsky (1878—1945). It allows us to determine the specificity of the individual author’s artistic interpretation of the history of the late XVII — early XVII century in the literary work. The analysis of the literary text allows us to state that the historical background of the novel served as the basis for the glorification of the best representatives of gentry dynasties of the Lis and Ossendovski. The writer harmoniously
combined historical facts and fiction in the work.
