Abstract

The article reflects the results of the theoretical study of the phenomenon “image” and “image of a child with special educational needs”, its characteristics in the works of domestic and foreign scientists. The results of empirical
research of the level of tolerance of future teachers and teachers-practitioners are presented. It has been established that
students of general pedagogical profile have a higher level of tolerance than students of mathematical profile and teachers-
practitioners. Differences in indicators of communication tolerance among future teachers and teachers-practitioners were also analyzed. An analysis of the structure of the image of a child with special educational needs among teachers with different levels of tolerance is presented. Statistically significant differences in the image structure of a child with special educational needs were identified between a group of respondents with a high level of communicative tolerance and respondents with a low level of communicative tolerance.
