Abstract

The article presents the results of research of the cognitive and affective components of self-consciousness among women with and without signs of eating disorders. The main studied parameters were self-identification and the
level of claims, which were analyzed using methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis. It was revealed the differences in the formation of sublevels of self-identification by women with normative eating behavior in comparison with
women with signs of eating disorder. It is also shown that with normative eating behavior, the content component of self-identification becomes important, while it is the descriptive one with the abnormal habits. A low level of claims is noted among women of both empirical groups. However, if there are signs of eating disorders the unrealistically low
level of claims starts to be prevailing.
