Abstract

The article considers the issue of social orphanhood as one of the relevant problems of the development of family institution. The authors offer an alternative to social orphanhood foster families with different types of arrangements, where the parenthood becomes a social responsibility and can be perceived as a professional obligation towards the child. Professional substitute families include mothers, who require special pedagogical and psychological training in order to take a child into the family. The authors determined the peculiarities of foster mothers in their professional substitute families, related to their level of pedagogical competence, type of upbringing, psychological type of parenthood
and parental attitude, was proposed the author’s typology of mothers from professional substitute families “almost birth mother”, “hypomother”, “hypermother”.
