Abstract

In the presented article functioning of various kinds of artistic details in Ivan Melezh trilogy “The Polesskaya Chronicle” are considered and analyzed. The artistic details of the “Polesskaya Chronicle” play an important role in creating the national originality of the pictorial-verbal world of the writer’s works. The artistic detail ensures the authenticity and motivation of images, reflecting the essence of the artistic whole and becoming a micro-image that combines
psychological content, expressiveness and typifying essence. The study of artistic details in the trilogy allows to expand the possibilities of disclosure of the author’s idea. Being a significant detail of the depicted world of characters, the detail becomes a necessary element for the correct understanding of the characters’ feelings and actions. By the example
of the novels, the functional aspect of artistic details is revealed, their symbolism and role in creating characters and their image are studied.
