Abstract

The article reveals the phenomenon of child-centrism as a central characteristic of the modern family through the multidimensional nature of this phenomenon, which characterizes the modern attitude of society to childhood. Childcentrism is considered as a phenomenon that characterizes the acceptance of children as a primary value for society, state social policy and the family. Describes the causes of child-centrism as a social phenomenon. Also presented and
described scientific categories associated with child-centrism. And described widely represented in society phenomena antagonistic to child-centrism. Defined methodology of child-centrism. Child-centrism is considered by the author as an interdisciplinary category with a specific methodology, which is presented in a number of scientific theories and concepts: the theory of child-centrism (J. Dewey, E. Key), structural-functional approach (E. Durkheim, R. Merton, T. Parsons, W. Moore, etc.).
