Abstract

Psychology of religion in Russia XIX — early XXI century : a collective monograph / K. M. Antonov [et al.]; editor-compiler K. M. Antonov. — Moscow : Publishing house PSTGU, 2019. — 534 p.

In this work the author presents a review of a collective monograph on the history of the development of a rather specific and narrow disciplinary direction — the psychology of religion. The problematic field of the monograph
chronotopically includes the Russian context of the entire 19 th, 20th and early 21 st centuries. The review describes the structure of the monograph, analyzes its individual elements, considers methodological approaches (historicalphilosophical, cross-disciplinary). The author describes the advantages manifested in filling the gaps in specific researchers (primarily the period before the 1917 revolution) and research traditions in the field of the psychology of religion, as well as the systematic presentation and representativeness of schools, trends and concepts (confessionaltheistic, “scientific-atheistic”, general psychological). The author comes to the conclusion that the peer-reviewed
monographic study is fundamental and has no analogues in the entire post-Soviet space, neither in the breadth of coverage of the material, nor in the depth of analysis.
