Abstract

The basis for the introduction of Olympic education in the educational process of primary schools is the social demand of the state and its focus on the formation of priorities related to the preservation and strengthening of health,
the civil formation of the individual and the creation of conditions for the self-realization of each student. The use of innovative quest technology in the organization of Olympic education in the first grade of primary school is associated with the focus on filling the motor needs of children. The author presents the results of an experimental study of the
development of motor abilities of first-graders in the conditions of traditional training and Olympic education based on sports quest games. The author describes the results of the empirical study of first-graders’ physical performance based on the results of a series of test exercises: long jump, shuttle run, lifting the trunk from the supine position and hanging on bent arms, bending forward, running.
