Abstract

Composer Carl Orff’s theory has traditionally been considered one of the most effective concepts of music preschool education. The implementation of this foreign pedagogical technology is relevant only in case of its adaptation to the national educational system, as well as in combination with the country’s own experience. The need to adapt theories of preschool education and methodological materials is especially relevant in the current conditions of children’s distancing from national culture. The issue of adaptation of educational materials seems to be almost solved, while the problem of adaptation of musical instruments is still unresolved. Criteria for the selection of folk instruments that functionally
correspond to the “Orff set” are presented. Chinese folk instruments are selected under these criteria. The selected instruments are easy to use, have colorful, unusual soundsand appearance, stimulating kids to controlled playing — both individually and in the ensemble, and subsequently to improvising.
