Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of tolerance to uncertainty, interpersonal tolerance to uncertainty, intolerance to uncertainty of students from urban and rural areas. The similarities and differences in the structural and
substantive characteristics of tolerance to uncertainty of the indicated groups of students are described: attitude to novelty, attitude to complex tasks, attitude to uncertain situations, preference for uncertainty. Reflected are the stylistic features of responding to changes in students of late adolescence, taking into account the region of their residence. The article presents the characteristics of empirically revealed content characteristics of personal readiness for change, innovative readiness and readiness for organizational change as associated with the phenomenon of tolerance to uncertainty and as a consequence of it. The adaptive strategies of behavior associated with the choice of strategies of activity in situations of novelty, inherent in students from urban and rural areas, are described.
