Abstract

The article deals with the problem of lifelong pedagogical education as a strategic direction of the education system in the Republic of Belarus. The experience of building a system of continuous training of teaching staff at Baranovichi State University on different levels is highlighted: vocational guidance in pedagogical specialties, pre-specialized training (groups of pedagogical direction at the III level of general secondary education), higher education, additional education for adults. The approved forms of lifelong pedagogical education are reflectedin the article. These forms are introduced through academic, research and volunteer activities and have proven their effectiveness. The psychological mechanisms of the formation of adherence to the teaching profession and the desire of students of pedagogical classes, students of pedagogical specialties and practicing teachers to constantly improve the professional qualifications
are described. Recommendations for improving the quality of continuous pedagogical training of future and workingspecialistsare suggested.
