Abstract

Property base and financial base are strongly required for the realization of a wide range of activities provided by
religious organizations. Religious organizations in the Republic of Belarus are the subjects of civil law, therefore, they have
a number of rights in the sphere of property law. The same requirements to implement the property rights of religious
organizations are applied to the other subjects of civil law, as well as additional requirements are imposed on religious
organizations due to the specific character of their activities. The Law of the Republic of Belarus ‘‘On Freedom of
Conscience and Religious Organizations’’ contains numerous definitions of terms of property for religious purposes, thus,
the process of enforcement is getting more complicated. The conclusions and recommendations on the improvement of
the legislation in the sphere of religious organizations’ property are provided in the study.
