SOURCES ON THE HISTORY OF THE CULTURE IN BELARUS AT THE ENDOF THE XVIIIth — THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIXth CENTURY

Abstract

The author classifies the sources on the history of culture in Belarus at the end of the first half of the XVIIIth — the
XIXth century into groups: sources for literature, sources of Theatre and Music, arts and crafts. Their advantages and
disadvantages have been characterized. The author notes that the available sources on the history of Belarusian culture
study period are stored in the collections of a number of archives, libraries and museums of Russia and Belarus. The author
found out the data sources in the Belarusian State Museum of Literature, the National Library of Belarus, the Belarusian
State Archive of Literature and Art, the State Museum of Theatre and Music Culture of Belarus, the National Museum of
History and Culture, the Museum of Ancient Belarusian culture research Center of Belarusian culture, language and
literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus,
the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, the National Historical Archives of Belarus and the Russian
State military History Archives. The authors formulate the historiography period concept of the cultural history of late
feudalism in Belarus.
