Abstract

Competitive functioning of any economic model at micro- and macroeconomic level requires changes, leading to resource
efficiency, reduction of labor intensity, improvement of productivity and extension of the assortment and capacity utilization. The
innovative model of economy under discussion seems to be expedient in this context. Consequently, the aim of the present study is to
identify factors affecting the level of innovation development of the country on the bases of the proposed system of indicators and
formation of the intended direction of economic development. The analysis of global situation in the sphere of innovation activity is
based on the statistical data of the year 2015. The factors reflecting the innovative level of Belarusian Economy are considered in detail.
Pressures on the innovative development of regions in Belarus are grouped into four vectors (based on derivative indices).

The research results in: detection of the country innovation development factors, definition of regional specialization of innovation activity, elaboration of evaluation criteria of the country innovation development level which has regional and priority area differentiation.
