Abstract

The history of Poland occupies a certain place in the works of the famous Russian historian S. M. Solovyov. Solovyov’s
historical Polish Studies are presented both in his fundamental concept of the history of Russia, as well as in individual works on the
history of Poland and in studies of different periods of Russian history. One of the most important topics of the historical Polish Studies
scholar is dedicate to sections of Poland.
The article discusses some problems of the Commonwealth fall in S. M. Solovyov’s historiosophical concept. The History of
Poland fall is considered by the historian in the context of pan-European historical process, as well as in line with the Polish-Russian
rivalry and struggle for the West Russian lands. S. M. Soloviov’s oeuvre in the context of the historical Polish Studies and Poland’s role
in the history of Russia was studied only selectively. The theme of the sections of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth requires additional
research too. Special complex historiographical studies on this issue have not been conducted before.
