Abstract

The article describes the tourist routes which were developed and operated in Western Belarus in the period between the first and the second World Wars. It is reported about the total number of tourist routes in the context of administrative and territorial division of Western Belarus as part of Poland, the means of transport (water, railway, automobile) used in tourism, and the walking tourist routes. The tourist routes of the main macro regions in Western Belarus, such as Vilnya, Palesse and Panyamonne ones, are characterized. The most popular among the local population and strangers tourist sights are described (memorable places; monuments of nature, history and culture; recreational properties and zones; etc.). It allocates the specificity of tourists’ travelling, determines availability of touristic infrastructure, etc.
