Abstract

The main stages of the formation of the prosecution offices of the BSSR in the 1920’s from the system of the People’s Commissariat of Justice has been considered. The main organizational actions taken by the Soviet authorities in the Belarusian territories in order to create an independent prosecutor’s office are described. The borrowings made to the establishment of the Belarusian prosecutor’s office from the Russian experience of the 18—19 centuries, as well as the influence of the RSFSR prosecutor’s office are analyzed. In fact, the prosecutor’s office of the BSSR, which emerged from the People’s Commissariat of Justice, became the successor of the traditions developed since the time of Peter I, which were adjusted by the class character of the new state.
