Abstract

In foreign legislation, the increased attention is paid to the issue of combating domestic violence. Special laws have been adopted in more than 100 countries around the world, including almost all the states of the post-Soviet space except the Republic of Belarus, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. In the Republic of Belarus the studies on the interdependent relationship of family health and demographic security in the aspect of legal regulation are rare. In this regard, the idea to analyze the existing approaches to understanding of the phenomenon of domestic violence has been developed. Taking into account the statistics of domestic violence in the Republic of Belarus, some changes of legislation have been proposed.
